OpenMonero is the REAL domain for a new LocalMonero group

OpenMonero is a sophisticated agoradesk clone with powerful new privacy features, such as complete account deletion, self-destructing messages and e2e-encrypted trade notifications.

Openmonero.co is the true successor to LocalMonero.co. We're carrying on where LocalMonero left off, cloning the frontend and maintaining the user base from the classic site, with only the team behind it changing.

We've added new powerful updates that are designed to give you complete control over your data.

New powerful updates:

New notification updates:

No registration required to buy Monero

Request trades and receive in-app notifications without ever creating an account. This means no email addresses, passwords, usernames, session IDs, or Nostr public keys are collected, eliminating a significant risk of data breaches.

Non-custodial

We provide a strong solution to protect sellers' assets by allowing vendors to post arbitration bonds from completely separate wallets. This separation guarantees that seller funds remain insulated from ongoing risks while awaiting trade requests. By leveraging self-custodial trade settlements, users can enjoy a trustless trading environment similar to the now-defunct localcryptos.com, which facilitated seamless escrow funding from any external wallet.

No analytics. period.

LocalMonero continues to use a Russian tracker known as Yandex.Metrica on the frontend, whereas OpenMonero does not employ any trackers on the frontend at all. All frontend requests are managed exclusively by OpenMonero. However, the .co domain relies on a Cloudflare proxy for DDoS protection, which effectively serves as a man-in-the-middle at the DNS level. Proceed with caution or consider bypassing DNS trackers using openmonero.i2p or Tor Hidden Service. Once we secure the financial resources for DDoS protection, Cloudflare will be promptly ditched.

Self-destructing messages

We've added a new feature in the settings that allows you to automatically delete all chat messages once a trade is either completed or canceled. This ensures that neither our staff nor your trading partner can access any chat conversations. Once deleted, these messages cannot be recovered by administrators. The automatic deletion process occurs at midnight each day.

Self-hostable frontend for ultimate control (running locally)

wget https://openmonero.co/Dockerfile
docker build -t om .
docker run -d -p 80:80 --name om om

How do you plan on responding to LE requests?

LE requests are automatically sent to our spam folder. OpenMonero operates outside regulation because vendors can use external wallets to facilitate high-value trades. In contrast, LocalMonero was regulated and ultimately shut down due to external factors, as they lacked the external wallet option.

Import LocalMonero profile

If you have an account on LocalMonero.co and you'd like to import your entire profile (feedback included) you have worked for while trading on the platform, you can now do so! To do it, simply sign up with your localmonero.co username and a new password. Learn More.

Import reputation

You can import your reputation from Localcoinswap, Hodlhodl, Bitvalve, Bitpapa, Paxful, Noones and Agoradesk. Go to dashboard and click the import reputation button. We can import your total trades, your feedback score, total volume and registration date.
